Peer Review Policy

Purpose of Peer Review

Bio-PLEXUS follows a peer-review system to ensure originality, quality and academic integrity of published research. Peer review is a fundamental part of the scientific assessment of submitted manuscripts, in terms of their scientific validity, methodological soundness and scholarly contribution.

The review process contributes to a fair editorial decision-making process and ensures the reliability of the published academic record.

Peer Review Model

The journal uses a double-blind peer-review system, which ensures that authors' and reviewers' names are unknown throughout the review process. This is done with the aim of encouraging objective assessment and the possibility of minimising any bias.

The manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers who have the knowledge and research experience in the related field.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Manuscripts are then screened for initial editorial consideration with a view to suitability for the scope and requirements of the journal. Originality, relevance and ethical considerations, manuscript quality and submission guidelines are all taken into account.

Manuscripts which fail to meet the minimum requirements of the Journal will be returned to the author prior to peer review or rejected at that stage.

Reviewer Evaluation

The manuscripts are judged on scientific quality and rigour, clarity of presentation, significance of results, accuracy of interpretation, and contribution to the existing scholarship.

This is an invitation for the reviewers to give constructive, objective and evidence-based suggestions to help the editors and the authors appraise the Manuscript.

Editorial Decision Process

Editorial consideration is based upon reviewer comments, recommendations and on the academic value of the submission. After the peer review process, a manuscript can be either accepted, accepted with revisions, returned for major revisions or rejected.

The Editor-in-Chief or appointed Editor decides on the publication of the article after taking into account all the relevant reviews and editorial comments.

Confidentiality and Ethical Standards

The manuscripts and review materials are all kept confidential. Confidentiality is encouraged, and reviewers/editors/editorial staff are expected not to have an interest or use unpublished information for personal or professional gain.

The members of the review process should acknowledge any potential conflict of interest that might arise for the objectivity of the review and decision making.

Revision and Resubmission

Upon receiving the reviewers' comments, authors might be asked to revise their manuscript. Revised papers are required to respond to the comments from the peer referee and may be re-evaluated by the editor or reviewed again, depending on the recommendations of the peer referee.

The journal promotes healthy discussion and enhances the quality and clarity of papers that are submitted.

For Authors

Authors who are submitting their manuscripts to Bio-PLEXUS should make sure that their work is original, well-reported and written according to the guidelines of submission guidelines and ethical guidelines of the journal. For queries about peer review, please write to the editorial office.
